BQ25700A: BQ25700A does not have charge current

Part Number: BQ25700A

Hi

Use TYPEC charger, the current communication protocol has been OK, VCC_TYPEC has 14.5v, the fourth pin of the plug-in charger chip detects a change in the level, VCC_SYS voltage and battery voltage (7.4v lithium battery) are always the same, the battery cannot charge, the captured register is set as follows.

  • Hi Start,

Looks like you are in SYS_OVP and shut off the converter. Please set REG20[4]=0 to clear SYS_OVP to start charge.

BQ25700A can't be charged by PD charger, can use 5V charger。

When insert with PD charger, charger always outputs the highest voltage of charger, such as 18W charger, output 12V.

we use two lithium batteries, Is it hardware  problem or software problem.

    Thanks

    Star

  • Hi Star,

Is the above status read back based on PD charger?  Do you mean that PD charger power rating 18W with 12V maximum output voltage?

I am confuse about your statement that "charger always output the highest voltage of charger", from the status read back VSYS=7232mV, VBAT=7424mV.

VBAT>VSYS means that battery is supplementing system. What is the system load for this test?
