LM5155DSSR 3.5V-4.2V to 12.00V @ 1A, using for a power management senior design project

We are utilizing this boost converter design for our CubeSat senior design power management project.  We only have less than a month left for our project, and the design calls for only surface mount components. We can get away with the IC being surface mount however, the 21 other components in the BOM are all surface mount and we were wondering if it is ok or even possible to switch those parts to through hole components?  Any other ideas for a EE seniors in a bit of a converter crunch?

Thank you!

  • Hi Nick,

Thank you for reaching out.  I think you can change to through holes.  Through holes are may cause the layout/routing difficult because the through holes penetrate all layers and you lose some freedom to route in the inner layers.  But through hole components should work.

    Thanks,
