LM5069: LM5069-1

Part Number: LM5069

I am using LM5069-1. There was a need to lock (latch) the LM5069-1 even in the case of Undervoltage or Overvoltage, not just Overcurrent. Is the idea of using a Power Good signal for driving an additional LATCH (74LVC1G175) and connecting it to the gate of the mosfet in the same way as for shutdown control (figures 26 and datasheet) OK.

  • Hi Davorin,

    Yes, it should work.

Please verify through a quick simulation. LM5069 files are available at http://www.ti.com/product/LM5069/toolssoftware

Can you let me know the reason for latch-off need for UV, OV fault? What is end system?

    BR, Rakesh

  • Thanks for the quick reply. Several of the circuits with the LM5069-1 have been tested at the company I work for.
During testing, the case appeared that the power supply came into current limiting mode, the voltage slightly dropped below UV and the output voltage pulsed.
To avoid such cases, they suggested that the LM5069-1 go to latch-off.
The device has three LM5069 for system voltages 24V, 22-36V, 48V - 56V for stepper motors drivers, brushless motors ..
I use an Excel spreadsheet for the LM5069.
By the way, why design with Webench is not possible?

    Best regards

    Davorin

  • Hi Davorin,

    Thanks for the additional information.

We don't have Webench support for these parts.
