Hello,

we would like to use this device as a current limitation device for an ATEX equipment.

To do this I need the following information missing on the datasheet:

1) Absolute maximum current for each pin. (not only drain and Out).

2) if there are some tricks to put 2 of theese devices in series.

What is your max load current? Why you need to use two in series ?

Why absolute max current details for each pin is needed ?

Please look at TPS25982, which offers better integration over TPS24751.

Max continuous current 0.9A +/-10% including all tolerances

Circuit breaker function with retry option

We need to use 2 inseries because the atex standard require this kind of protection

Max current is needed because for the standard we need to limi the current flowing inside each pin.

I'll have a look at 25982 in the meanwhile could you provide me tose info? thank you.

Hi Albert,

Please look at TPS25982 also and confirm which device you want to proceed with.. So that I can provide the limits of current into pins of that particular device.

Please proceed with TPS24751 as requested.

The part you've mentioned is not accurate enough at low currents to be used in our application.

EN (33), High impedance pin with leakage current +/-1uA
FLTb (30), 5 mA
GATE (25), 1.4A
GND (4, 28, 32, 36), 1.4mA
IMON (2), 5mA
OUT (6-13, 19-24), Continuous Current up to 12 A
OV (1), High impedance pin with leakage current +/-1uA
Pad-1, 1.4mA
Pad-2, Continuous Current up to 12 A
PGb (31), 5mA
PROG(34), High impedance pin with leakage current +/-0.2uA
SENSE(26), 5mA
SET(3), 5mA
TIMER(35), 7mA
VCC(29), 1.4mA

Thanks for theese info, but what i need is the maximum input current to avoid damaging the esd protection diode on each input.

following is an example of an opamp:

The input pin leakage current in this comparator is 1nA maximum but the input current shall be limited to the data highlighted.

Can you provide a similar information?

Hi Albert,

The ESD structure can take max current of 100mA at DRAIN, OUT and Pad-2 pins. Rest of the pins can able to take 50mA max.
