LP5024: Enable Pin, mixed Power Rail, white LEDs

Part Number: LP5024

I've got several questions concerning LED control with the LP5024:

Q1: is it possible to fix the EN Pin constant to VCC (I have no MCU port remaining for that) ?

Q2: is it possible to operate VCC with 5Volt and the IIC- Bus from the MCU wit 3.3Volt ?

Q3: is it possible to mix RGB- and white LEDs on one device ?

  • Hi Christof,

    All answers are yes.
    1) You could connect EN to VCC or other external power supply. LP50 have software enable so it would not power up immediately.
    2) You could power VCC and VMCU separately. High level input voltage is fixed at 1.4V so you should make sure voltage on SCL and SDA above it.
    3) The outputs are current sink and you could use them no matter what the type of LEDs.

  • Hello Hardy,

thanks a lot for your immediate answer. My issue has been satisfactory resolved.

    best regards christof
