BQ24250: Problem with the temperature of the BQ24250RGET

Dear Sir, Miss,

We are using the BQ24250RGET in one of our designs and this device becomes very very hot (71 °C) with an empty battery. We provide via the USB-C connector 2.1A and we have limited the charging current for the battery on 1.4A. Because of the intellectual property for this design I can’t share the schematics in a public support forum. So please see case CS0090929. Your colleague from support has already approved the schematic and has done a small review. So please don’t share these files in this public support forum.

We like to have some further assistance?

Hey Barry,

Have you measured the efficiency during this mode of operation?

Check the voltage at the VIN pin, the input current, the voltage at the BAT pin, and the battery current.
