TPS2546: any document could prove TI UVLO spec 3.9V~4.3v meet USB standard

Hi Team,

Customer request external control mechanism on TPS2546, as they do USB A port (power to ground) VIN short test and VIN drop to 4.3v (UVLO), as HP request 4.65v therefore they ask any document could prove TI UVLO spec 3.9V~4.3v meet USB standard ?

Hi Daisy,

SEction 6.5 of the datasheet for the TPS2546 verifies that UVLO occurs within 3.9 - 4.3 V for under voltage lockout.

Hi Emma,

Do you have any external document prove TI datasheet spec meet USB standard ?
As HP has their own UVLO spec defined to 4.65v, TI datasheet UVLO 3.9v~4.3v is too low for them, so we need to prove 3.9v~4.3v is reasonable parameter.

Hi Daisy,

The BC1.2 spec (https://www.usb.org/document-library/battery-charging-v12-spec-and-adopters-agreement, from the BC1.2_FINAL document) defines a voltage undershoot at 4.1 V. This falls in the middle of the UVLO range provided by the TPS2546 and therefore meets the USB standard.
