TPS63001: en pin not turning off output

Part Number: TPS63001

I Have built the Circuit as shown in the diagram except the en pin is separately connected to a control source. Problem is when en is pulled to gnd i still get voltage out. 4v. is the part damaged? shouldn't the output be disconnected with en low?

  • Hi Kevin,

The device should be turned off when driving the EN pin low. Can you please check:

    • Are you driving a wrong pin (for example PS/SYNC instead of EN)?
    • Are you driving the EN pin with proper voltage levels (less than 0.4 V needed to turn of EN pin)?
    • Do you have any load? In shutdown, there is no active discharge, and the output capacitor will keep the voltage until the it is discharged by the load or self-discharged.

    Best regards,
    Milos
