Hello,

I'm trying to use BQ35100 chip in our system, but the three LiSOCl2 batteries are connected in parallel. Can i use a single BQ35100 to monitor the EOS of all the three batteries. Attached herewith is a schematic of battery connection.

The three cells in parallel will be seen as 1 cell by the gauge, so yes the bq35100 can be used. Remember to set design capacity correctly

Hi Onyx,

Will the BQ35100 be able to detect the change in resistance even if the batteries are connected in parallel(low total resistance) and raise the EOS flag accurately.

Hi Onyx,

Can i use bq35100 without calibration for EOS detection. Accurate SOH will not be required. Only accurate EOS flag is needed.

(correct design capacity set using bqStudio and EV2400).

By without calibration i am assumiing you mean without voltage, current and temp calibration right?

If you don't want to calibrate each unit, i would recommend you calibrate 10-20 boards of yours and then take the average of the calibration values and program in your unit that has your golden file. Then you extract a new golden file. That way you can avoid calibrating each unit.
