UCC21222: Higher Vdd

Part Number: UCC21222

Dear Team,

The original main source voltage max is 24V.
UCC21222 driver max only 20V.

The voltage steady-state designed to drive the SIC MOS is 18V, which is quite close to 20V.
I am afraid of overvoltage stress during the transient.

But we don't have a higher Vdd device, right?

  • Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your question. I work on the applications team in the high power drivers group.

I understand the hesitation to drive so close to the abs. max. Can you give me more details about the system? What FETs are they driving? Is negative turn-off voltage necessary?

If possible, could the customer use UCC21225? This is a smaller driver in LGA package with up to 25V VDD capability. Does it need to be in D package?

If this helped answer your question, could you please press the green button? If not, feel free to ask more questions.

    Thanks and best regards,

    John
