Power Mux TPS2111

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2111

Hi,

I have been using the auto switch power mux (TPS2111) for my circuit, for which there is a voltage drop of 0.5V and it varies indefinitely for a range of voltage.

Is it inevitable or Is there any other solution to prevent the drop.

CL=0.1uF, RL=5E, Vsns>0.8V

Please Help

Thanks in advance...

  • The pass fet  has a maximum RDSon of 150milliohms at 125C so at 1A, the voltage drop should not be more than 150mV. Maybe it has just entered current limit so the output voltage is reduced. Check the current limit resistance sized to allow sufficient current for the output load. Check also that the power supply is not current limited. Measure the vin and vout at the TPS2111 pins so that no other voltage drop in connectors, cables, etccause the problem.

  • Thanks a ton Bob...

    I think it solves...

    Thank you again....
