BQ34110: BQ34110

Part Number: BQ34110

Hello, on section 2.9.3 WHr Charging in the document http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluubf7a/sluubf7a.pdf

Below there is a list of some parameters we would like to understand what exactly are. If somebody can explain will really appreciate it. Thank you

1) Cell Charge Voltage T2 – T3
2) Charging Taper Voltage
3) Current Taper Window
4) WHr Termination Capacity
5) WHr CV Step
6) FC WHr Clear

Did you look through the trm properly? Those parameters are used there. for 1. this is just the JEITA voltage value for that temperature reate.

2 and 3 ensures taper is met. You generally do not have to modify that except you are using a really small battey, like <200mAh.

    4. Ensures the cell is properly fully charged.

    5. Ensures full charge is reached. Doesn't have to be modified.

    6. Dictates when the charging will restart.

    thanks

  • Hello Onyx,

thanks much for your explanation but since we are kind of beginning with these tech, we are still confused.

Is for JEITA needed that the battery has a NTC inside? We have regular Li-ion Battery 7.2V 20Ah. Please refer to attached datasheet.

If that is the case for JEITA, we decided to go over WHr. But still from the datasheet we don't know what values to add in all 6 parameters listed above.

Maybe you can help us by checking the datasheet and give us a hint on what values to use.

    Thanks much

    Regards

  • Given Jeita doesn't seem to be a requirement for you (if it were you would know), You can set the charge voltage and current  to the same value for the temperature ranges.

    thanks
