BQ25713: BATDRV

Part Number: BQ25713

Hi Sir,

I would like to know what's the BATDRV turn on or off condition on charge/discharge mode?

For example, during the discharge mode with 2cell battery, the battery voltage is 6.2V, I want to know what's the behavior on BATDRV pin when the  system have abnormal voltage(around 8V). (because I afraid the 8V will go to battery/6.2v if the BATDRV still turn on in this abnormal scenario)

Thank you

Arisa

  • Hi Arisa,

If there is only battery connected, then BATFET is always on and VSYS is clamped at VBAT. Any abnormal high voltage added on VSYS will result in high current

    spike to battery.

  • Dear Shishuo,

Thank you for the feedback, i did the validate on my system and i can find the result as you described.

i also need you help provide the BATFET turn on sequence(include the time) when the Adapter or Battery is plug in?

    Thank you

    Arisa

  • Hi Arisa,

Assuming you are disconnecting Adapter and your current VSYS> VBAT-60mV. BATFET is turned off.

Step1: After disconnecting adapter,VBUS_UVP is triggered and converter should shut down.

Step2: VSYS begin to drop because converter shuts down and BATFET is turned off.

Step3: VSYS <VBAT-60mV and BATFET begin to turn on and battery supplement system after this moment.

    Regards
