LM5143-Q1: How does this device balance current when used in dual phase 1 output mode?

Hi Team,

Can you help me understand how this device balance current in dual phase 1 output mode when using a DCR circuit. Looking at the block diagram the voltage measure across Cdcr is used to inject slope compensation i the feedback path. How does this and other factors that i may not be considering affect the current balancing achieved by the device?

Hi Julio,

Let me double check with the application engineer for this product.

I think the balancing is happening inside the IC where it compares the 2 current sense signal.

Hi Julio,

Internal to the IC, you can expect better than 5% in terms of balancing of the currents.

This is of course before adding the error caused by DCR sense resistor variation and over temperature.

Thanks for the detail. Indeed the current balancing is done by monitoring the DCR current and accuracy will be dependent of the tolerances of that circuitry. I will let the engineer know and let him know to join this thread if he has any further questions. Thank you!
