I was looking to use the TI-BQ79606A-Q1 in order to create a battery management system for an electric vehicle. I plan on using the Tiva TM4C123GH6PM as the microcontroller to communicate to the BQ79606A-Q1. I was notified that the BQ79606A is not available on the battery management studio and was wondering if it is possible to program it using the Tiva TM4C123GH6PM. Also, could you provide a list of battery monitoring ICs that are supported in the battery management studio.

We do have sample code using TMS570 microcontroller LaunchPad. See here: http://www.ti.com/tool/BQ79606A-EXAMPLE-CODE

So you might want to try this approach first or use the code as reference.

BQ79606A-Q1 device is supported in BQStudio. I'll send you the info on a private message. Regarding battery automotive devices supported in BQStudio, it would only be the bq79606A-Q1. The other devices have their own GUI.

Regarding the BQStudio, do you have a link to download the most recent version. The only ones I can find are version 1.3.86.3 and version 1.3.92.3 which is for testing purposes only.

Hi Ryan,

The versions you mention are the latest, either the testing version or .86 will be fine to run our GUI as long as you have the .bqz file Leslie sent over.
