WEBENCH® Tools/LM5022: Webench did not specify the values of the resistor Rcomp and capacitor Ccomp2

Part Number: LM5022

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

In one of my designs using LM5022 Webench did not specify the values of the resistor Rcomp and capacitor Ccomp2.

Should they (and also Ccomp) be used in this design ?

Thank you !

  • Hi Ubiratan,

Thank you for considering the LM5022.  I just went to check the webench and created a few different designs, all having part values presented.  Not sure what you refer to.  You may try to re-generate the Webench design.

Let me close this thread here.  However, if you don't think the issue is resolved by re-run the Webench, please post your Webench circuit here for us to review. Your new post will re-open this thread.

    Thanks,

    Youhao Xi, Applications Engineering

  • Hi Youhao,

after your answer I also tried other browsers but with no success.

Please try the following data for your simulation.

    Vin min = 10V

    Vin max = 15V

    Vout = 13V

    Iout = 0.1A

    Thank you.

    Ubiratan

  • For these conditions, I guess you choose flyback, right?  I just tried and it generated a full circuuit with all values labeled.  By the way, I use Google Chrome.

Attached is what I got from Webench.

    Thanks,

    Youhao

  • Hi Youhao,

I am not using the same circuit than you. Please find it here. https://webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=0CFAD491563BB0C9

    Thank you.

  • I see, you are using SEPIC.  If you click the BOM, the value is listed.  I will pass this to our Webench group to fix the value labeling issue. This may take sometime, but this should  not prevent you from using the Webench.

Thank you for reporting such issue, and this helps us improving the Webench tool.

    Thanks,

    Youhao

  • Youhao,

sorry but these values are not listed in the BOM. The only value listed is Ccomp (470nF). Ccomp2 and Rcomp are not showed. If they are showed in your browser please sent me e print screen showing them.

I would appreciate if you ask your engineering colleagues to let me know Ccomp2 and Rcomp values because my design is paused because of this issue.

You need only to let me know their values considering the input data I have sent before.

    Thank you.

    Ubiratan

  • Ubiratan,

I tried your inputs and am able to see values without issues for SEPIC topology using LM5022. But, the components and switching frequency was different than what you shared. Did you also change any other inputs like try "Low Cost" setting instead of the default "Balanced" setting? I compared your design component values and found the Low cost setting is what you may have tried. Let us know.

Either way, I do see different compensation network component values. Please check this design out which has all values listed: https://webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=0C289F00944C4F66

Please let us know if you have more questions.

    Regards,

    Amod

  • Hi Ubiratan,

We tried to reproduce your problem. Even though the design you shared is missing components. We created new design for LM5022 with your input conditions and we were able to get proper rcomp and Ccomp2. The issue is present in that design you created alone. You may use design shared by Amod for your testing. Below is an alternate link for the same.
