TPS61030: Characteristics of Vout=4.5V

Part Number: TPS61030
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61022

Hi Team,

Would you support my customer's inquiry below because

there was no description on the data sheet.

■ TPS61030

・ Characteristics of input voltage vs Maximum Output current @ Vout = 4.5V

In other words, I need figure1 / figure2 at Vout = 4.5v version in the datasheet.

・ Output Current vs Output Voltage @ Vout = 4.5V

       Vout = 4.5V version of Figure9

Thanks

Best regards,

Shidara

  • Hi Shidara,

TPS61030 is a synchronous step-up converter operates at a 600kHz frequency pulse width modulation. The peak current of the NMOS switch is sensed to limit the maximum current flowing through the switch and inductor. The typical peak current limit is set to 4000mA. The minimum spec is 3.6A. Considering the inductor current ripple 30%. The maximum average input current is 3.6/1.15= 3.13A. Using equation Iout=Vin*Iin_avg*Effi/Vout, you could get the maximum output current.

I would suggest customer using TPS61022, which has larger current limit spec and higher efficiency.

  • Hi Zack-san

    Thanks for your reply.

This customer's target switching current is less than 2A so he selected TPS61030.

Is it possible to support providing below graph of TPS61030?

1.Characteristics of input voltage vs Maximum Output current @ Vout = 4.5V

    2.Output Current vs Output Voltage @ Vout = 4.5V

    Thanks

    Best regards,

    Shidara

  • Hi Shidara,

OK. I can provide you the graph. What's the input voltage range of customer's application? Please tell me it so that I can do the test.

  • Hi Zack-san

Thank you so much for your strong support.

The customer use CR-123 for battery so please think the input voltage range from 1.8V to 3V.

    Thanks

    Best regards,

    Shidara

  • Hi Shidara,

Below is the maximum output current vs input voltage when Vout=4.5V.

Below Vout VS output current curve when Vin=2.4V

    Hope that helps!

  • Hi Zack-san

Thank you so much for your great help.

    I'd highly appreciate.

    Thanks

    Best regards,
