Part Number: SM3320-BATT-EV
Is there any reference document on how to charge a 36V Li-Po battery using SM3320-BATT-EV? what changes have to be done in both the hardware and software? It would be useful if anyone advises me on this.

Hi Natesan,
Thanks for reaching out with your question and for using the SM72442.
There is not any document that specifically covers how to charge a Li-Po battery.

Hi Natesan,
I am the apps engineer for SM72295 (the full bridge gate driver).
For SM3320 reference design help check out section 15 of AN-2121 (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snosb76c/snosb76c.pdf). Though the discussion is about Li-ion, Li-Po is not very different. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
As I said, I want to charge a 36V battery, what are the changes that have to be done apart from the output capacitors(voltage rating)? could you please clarify?
Hi Natesan,
Thanks for the update,
You can adapt this design for 36V battery by changing the MOSFETs (and passives) used in the buck/boost converter section of figure 20 in the design guide AN-2121. Section 15 of AN-2121 (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snosb76c/snosb76c.pdf) helps with reconfiguring the OVP passives. Please let me know if you have any questions on this.
Thanks,
