BQ4050: Is there current scaling so that I can use the device with currents above 32760mA?

Part Number: BQ4050

Variations on the BQ device include a current scaling factor so that larger battery packs and currents can be used. I don't see this function on the BQ4050 and I assume that I am missing the right register / command? To get around this problem I have calibrated the system by specifying a resistor is 2X the real value - but is there a better way?

No , that's the only way, ie fooling the gauge via calibration.

Thanks a lot - that's what I suspected. I wonder how that will affect the capacity calculations? I suppose I'll have to double the specified battery capacity to match so that a 1C discharge leads to a 1C discharge prediction / calculation?

If you are scaling current by reducing by 2x, capacity and all current related parameters will be cut in half as well.
