BQ25898: PMID, SYS capacitor spec

Hello,

Could you help our customer to know the capacitor spec for both PMID and SYS, especially in maximum capacitor value.

Are these also available electrolytic capacitors to use.

    Hi,

    Referring to the 10.3 System Example on the d/s, the minimum PMID capacitance is 8.2uF, more capacitance is ok. The output inductance and SYS capacitance are highly recommended to be 1uH and 20uF respectively because of the fixed internal compensation.

    Hello,

    Thank you very much. I understood that PMID capacitor is recommended at least 8.2uF and the output capacitor should be recommended 20uF for the stability.

    How would you think about these capacitor type. Are these available electrolytic capacitors to use ?

    in addition to output capacitor, the customer has additional question of how he can take care if some DCDCs and LDOs are placed on the SYS. it seems like further capacitance on DCDC and LDO inputs. Could you have any idea how to answer ?

    Hi,

    Ceramic caps should be used with the charger. The preferred ceramic output capacitor is 6V or higher rating, X7R or X5R.
