Hello,

We are helping a client with a portable consumer audio device. They have chosen this battery. I am looking for a very small (the PCBA is same size as the battery) charging/gauging/protection solution. It needs to be hardware controlled (i.e. standalone) and easy to use. It will charge from a standard USB connector.

Is there an integrated IC that contains this functionality in a single device? Is there a solution that integrates back-side Buck/Boost converter to generate the 3.3V we need?

Would you please provide a recommendation for this application?

No there is no device that integrates all three solutions. You could use a gauge that integrates the protection like the bq27742 and then a separate charger

Thanks for your help! I will have a look at the BQ27742 and keep looking at separate chargers.

A follow-on question:

Do you have a reference design you could direct me towards which shows a 1S Li-Ion/Li-Po battery application with USB only charging?
