Hello
Does IC BQ 51003 support multilayer coils for receiving wireless charging from charging pad? -- Bill J - The device can be used with muli coil such as TI BQ500412.
What is the minimum size of the Charging coil at the receiving side? -- Bill J - I recommend a round coil greater than 20mm.
Is there any specific Wireless Charging Pad is there for BQ51003 IC?
What is the Output Frequency of Wireless Charging Pad and Input Charging Frequency for BQ51003 Ic? Does Frequency is Universal for all charging pad and Receiving side?
what is the Minimum Wattage of Wireless charging Pad for BQ 51003? --- Bill J -- The BQ51003 is a 2.5W RX device the charging pads (TX) are 5W are greater and will support the device
we were used 2.5 Watt Wireless charging pad but it does not charge. ---- Bill J -- Look at the RECT pin of the BQ51003 this will give a good indication of what the system is doing and indication of why it does not charge.
Is there any specific Wireless Charging Pad is there for BQ51003 IC? -- Bill J -- I recommend the TYLT VU SOLO, built around the BQ500212A TX IC. But any Qi certified TX should work.
What is the Output Frequency of Wireless Charging Pad and Input Charging Frequency for BQ51003 Ic? Does Frequency is Universal for all charging pad and Receiving side?--Bill J -- The TX will operate between 110kHz and 205kHz, some TX are fixed freq in this range and some or varable. Will depend on the TX type, several are defined in the standard.
1.When we use Wireless charging pad (5W/10W) more heat is occurring in the receiving section(BQ 51003). What is the reason for that?
2. Some times Charging getting disabled intermittently when our device placed on the charging pad, what is the reason?
3. The FOD pin of BQ 51003 is connected to Microcontroller. So what is the default state of FOD pin?
Hello
Thank you so much.
1. I would like to know Capacitor values C1,C2 and it's voltage rating which is connected to AC1 and AC2 pin of IC BQ51003.
2. The Capacitor C1 is divided into three 3 parallel combinations and Capacitor C2 is divided two parallel combination.so can we use one capacitor instead of this parallel capacitor combination?
3. In our circuit capacitor, C1 value are 0.068 uF,0.068 uF, 0.047uF and C2 values are 1800 pF ,100 pF and volatge rating is 10volt.I would like to know ,whether the capacitor values are right or wrong?
1.When we use Wireless charging pad (5W/10W) more heat is occurring in the receiving section(BQ 51003). What is the reason for that? ---Bill J - The heat could be from conversion loss in the power section or from AC heating of metal in PCB, battery or similar. Try extending the RX coil with leads so that only the coil in on the TX pad and in the AC field. If the temp drops problem is AC heating metal and adding shielding will help. If it does not then it is conversion loss and need to look at those factors.
2. Some times Charging getting disabled intermittently when our device placed on the charging pad, what is the reason? ---Bill J -- Could be a number of reasons need to provide more info. Scope capture of the RECT voltage when you see this problem will help.
3. The FOD pin of BQ 51003 is connected to Microcontroller. So what is the default state of FOD pin? --Bill J -- FOD needs to be connected with resistor to ground see application section of data sheet.
1. I would like to know Capacitor values C1,C2 and it's voltage rating which is connected to AC1 and AC2 pin of IC BQ51003.---Bill J -- 25V
2. The Capacitor C1 is divided into three 3 parallel combinations and Capacitor C2 is divided two parallel combination.so can we use one capacitor instead of this parallel capacitor combination?--Bill J - The ESR is reduced when three capacitors are used, higher efficiency.
3. In our circuit capacitor, C1 value are 0.068 uF,0.068 uF, 0.047uF and C2 values are 1800 pF ,100 pF and volatge rating is 10volt.I would like to know ,whether the capacitor values are right or wrong? -- Bill J - This will depend on the RX coil L measurements see data sheet section 9.2.1.2.2 for capacitor value. 10V is too low.
