Hi Team,
My customer is wondering if they can use the PCL pin on this device as a low side current sense?
They believe that from the datasheet (http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps7h1101a-sp.pdf sections 8.2.1.2 & 8.2.1.3) it looks like it's actually better suited for this purpose. Seems to be a finger from the main regulation PFET, and so it skips the current mirror error from the NMOS mirror that produce the high-side current.
The main thing they think they need to watch out for is cross-talk onto that net that could trip the current limit, but this should be OK with an RC isolation filter.
Is there something else that we could be missing or should watch out for?
Thanks,
Mitchell
