BQ76PL455A: stack communications connectivity

Part Number: BQ76PL455A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EMB1428Q

Hi

I am using bq76PL455A EVM kit.  while studying the SLUA791A page no 14.(i.e Figure 13.) i have some doubts related to the stack connections connectivity.

Let us consider there are 10 modules ( Each module=16 cells monitor (bq76PL455) + EMb1428Q)

if

~Daisy chain ====

~UART#########

  TMS-570(microcontroller) ############# Module 1 ==== Module 2 ==== Module 3 ==== -----------------------------------Module 9 ==== Module 10

Now my doubt is here:

if i connect TMS-570 with Module 1 then is it possible to interchange Module 1 with Module 9 or with any n Module  ( Here n=1,2, 3........10).

because if you look at the Figure 13 of page no 14. i found that TMS-570 connections are fixed with a dedicated module and it can not be interchange with any other module.

  • Hi Shailender,

    I think it is best if you study figure 14, 15 and 16 on the subsequent pages of the document. These figures showcase the schematical differences between a base device (one that is connected to the mcu) a stack and a top of stack. Namely the main difference being that wakeup is grounded for stack vs. connected to mcu line on the base. So the modules are only interchangeable if you properly configure your UART signal connections to talk with the mcu whether that be component pops/depops or another method.
