CCS/BQ40Z60: Consultant whether second source NTC is suitable for BQ40Z60

Part Number: BQ40Z60

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi Batt:

I are planning to add second source NTC for BQ40Z60 . Could you help to analysis whether new source is suitable for BQ40Z60?

I have attached their datasheets .

By the way, does TI have pin- compatible BQ with BQ40Z60 and FW of BQ40Z60 can be used to this pin- compatible BQ IC?

Thanks in advance!

  • hi Emma

Any 10K NTC thermistor will work, but you will need to adjust the thermal coefficients in the gauge using the attached sheet.

There is no pin compatible device with the b40z60

  • 1, My difficulty is I have no chance to change thermal coefficients in FW, thus no chance to change FW. I am just wanting to find second source to my current NTC. My current thermal coefficients are like below, could you tell me what is the temperature error line when I use this thermal coefficients and NTC 'DHT0A103F34D2SY' and 'JDR103F344F'? I made an excel listing R/T tables for them.

2, Is this below thermal coefficients default number? What is default NTC?

3, Do I need to update below parameters if I change to second source?

4,How can I get temperature error curve(blue line) on the chart? What is the calculation of getting 'Rsistance error line' and 'temperature error line'?

5,What is the slim blue lines on chart3 and 4? What is the calculation?

6,Regarding 'Gas Gauge Temperature Tolerance (uncalibrated)' , what is meaning of uncalibrated? That is not doing temperature calibration through comparing thermal couple reading in other software to temperature reading in FG, is my understanding right?

7, If thermal coefficients results of second source NTC is same with ones of current NTC, does which mean I can make it as second source?
