BQ2060A: Cant communicate to EV2200 on windows 7 system

Hello,

I have an EV2200 and the EV2200-60 software installed. My VSS is connected to pack- of my bq2060A. I have a USB to RS232 FTDI converter installed and it is recognized as COM4 on my PC. I cant seem to establish communication with the EV2200 nor my bq2060a. I try to force communication on COM4 and it fails. I jump started the pack and can see the pack voltage on the output so i know the bq2060 is active. Am i missing a driver for the EV2200? Can someone point me to where it is if that is the case?

hi Ashley

why re you using this device? It is old and dated. We have newer devices like the bq4050 which has improved features and works with an ev2300 or ev2400.

The evm user guide provides instructions for setting up the bq2060. Pls follow the instructions in it.

This is to support another customer that is already using this device. this is not for a new design.

I resolved my issue by switching to an RS232 to USB converter that used prolific instead of FTDI. FTDI for whatever reason wasnt working with the EV2200.
