LMZM23600: Example layout of feedback resistors in adjustable output version

Part Number: LMZM23600

Hi,

In the adjustable version, the top feedback resistor is shown in the example layout as dropping a via to Vout.  Is there a reason not to directly place the pad connected to Vout on the copper plane that leads to the output capacitors and removing the via?

Thanks.

Mark

  • Hello Mark,

    The idea was to:

    1. Have a compact layout.

    2. Keep the output capacitor as close as possible.

    3. Sense the output voltage on the other side of the capacitor, presumably slightly closer to the load.

Rotating the resistor 90 degrees may push the output cap further away from the device.

Rotating the resistor 180 will result in sensing slightly before the cap, which is probably OK.

    Cheers,
    Denislav
