TPS70102PWP pad connection and 1.22V configuration

I am using the TPS70102PWP regulator in a design and wanted to know where I should connect the pad. Is this supposed to be left unconnected or shorted to GND?

Also, for this part I want an output voltage of 1.22V, which is the internal reference voltage. Can you confirm that I should connect FB1 to VOUT1 to do this and will not need an external resistor connected between FB1 and GND? Thanks for your help

Hello Matt,

Yes, the pad under the part is to be connected to ground. And note that depending on the amount of power dissipated across the part you should be very concerned that you sink enough heat into the copper plane. The following link is to TI's newest little widget tool for estimating copper area.

To set the output voltage to Vout = 1.22V, connect the output to the feedback as you say. No resistor from FB to ground is necessary.
