BQ77915: over current protection settings

Part Number: BQ77915

Hi,

In page 1, features the product the ocd 1 is given as : –10 mV to –85 mV but in page 3 the maximum OCD threshold is given as 70mV.  I would like to know if i can program the OCD to 8.5 mV?

if so, how do i calculate the ROCD for 8.5mV?

Thankyou

Regards

  • Hi Harini,

The Vocd threshold of the device cannot be configured by the user. If you desire a configuration that is not on the device comparison table, please contact your local TI sales representative.

However, the OCD current protection threshold is configured by the sense resistor, Rsns. This value can be as low as 1mOhm. To determine this value, simply divide the desired Vocd by the desired OCD current. For an example, see section 10.2.2.1 step 2 in the datasheet.
