BQ78PL116: Part status changed to NRND to ACTIVE

Hi,

Noticed that the BQ78PL116 status is changed from NRND to ACTIVE. Would like to know more on this.

As some of our products use BQ78PL116, we hope to get better technical support in future. 

For new products, can we use BQ78PL116 with 100% confidence that it will be in production for +5 years ?

    Hi Vasanth

    No ps do not use this device for newer designs. You will not be able to get proper technical support as it is a very old device and most of the engineers that worked with it are no longer at TI. The device will  be in production to support existing designs but that doesn't mean it is recommended for new designs.
