BQ40Z50: BQSTUDIO not recognizing CP2112 adapter

Part Number: BQ40Z50
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400

Hello fellow engineers,

We are designing and testing BQ40Z50 with a 4s34 configuration li-ion battery pack system.

We wish to reconfigure BQ40Z50 using BQSTUDIO. The issue is we couldn't find out how to make BQSTUDIO talk to the adapter we use, we are using CP2112. We did search online and in BQSTUDIO's offline help, plus exploring BQSTUDIO's preferences/settings. Unfortunately we did not get BQSTUDIO commuincating with CP2112.

The gauge BQ40Z50 works just fine, the indicator LEDs work well, we are getting info from BQ40Z50 without problem through SMBus and through our adapter, receiving and transmitting, which also means our adapter is still functioning properly.

The following screenshot shows successful commuincation between a software and the gauge BQ40Z50. This is supposed to mean the wiring is fine, the gauge is fine, the adapter we're using is fine and the computer is fine. Note, we did charge one cell only, that's why it's showing higher voltage compared with the rest, so that is actually true:

One thing we notiiced was that the adapter can commuincate with a signle software at an instant.

We made sure no software is interfering if BQSTUDIO attempted to commuincate with the adapter.

Still no success.

In BQSTUDIO's offline help, under Help > Battery Management Studio User Guide > Getting Started > Setting Up

It says that the software will auto detect the adapter. Therefore, we're thinking we could set our adapter's strings in a way to... say make our adapter virtually acceptable by BQSTUDIO, i.e. changing our adapter's display anem or another string as shown in the following screenshot:

Thanks in advance for your help.
