BQSTUDIO: version 1.3.96_Build1 Advance Comm doesn't work properly

Part Number: BQSTUDIO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ28Z610, EV2400,

Hello,.

I would like to add my 2 cents at the developer people.

I have downloaded and I am using the version 1.3.96 Build1 of the SW with the BQ28Z610.

Unfortunately it continues to do not work properly when I sent commands or data by the Advanced Comm Tab, the same error I found in version 1.3.93 and sent you in a previous post.

I wouldn't want to think that mistakes sent by this forum are not taken into account, would I?

Thanks for any feedback....

Maurizio

PS: the same sequences sent by version 1.3.86 work fine, just to clear any doubts about the correctness of my actions .....

  • Hi Maurizio,

Sorry you are seeing these issues. I notified one of our software developers and he tried using the Advanced Comm Tab with version 1.3.96.1 and did not see any issue. See the image below. Does the Dashboard appear any different from what you are seeing? Are you using the latest version of the EV2400 firmware?

    Best regards,

    Matt

  • Thanks Matt for reply.

Unfortunately, on my HW it doesn't work like you told. I have the version 0.20 of the BQ28Z610 and the tool is the EV2300 (even if I think the EV2300 cannot be the issue!)

    The screen from my attempts.

Then, I cannot change the unseal and full access keys when I prepare my golden files.

    Check below, please

    Hope you can help me...

    Maurizio

  • I checked that with a bq28z610 EVM, an EV2300 and bqStudio 1.3.96.

Please make sure that you disable Auto Refresh (click on the highlighted text on the top of the dashboard). If this is enabled (green background), as it is in your screenshot, then bqStudio will periodically poll the gauge, which can interfere with the state of the data memory comms engine, leading to unexpected results when you try to access data memory using the advanced comms tab.

  • Dominik thanks!!!

It was that the cause of "malfunction".

In my own light I can tell that with the previous versions of bqStudio, having the Dashboard on or off did not affect the communications of the AdvComm tab.

I did not notice about any warning until your message!

Thanks again, this close the issue

    Maurizio
