SM3320-BATT-EV: Need clarification about on-board Inductor-L1

Part Number: SM3320-BATT-EV

I want to charge a 36V Li-Po battery with SM3320-BATT-EV, please take a look (https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/p/854581/3163179#3163179?jktype=e2e) at the question which I already in TI's E2E forum.

As the On-board inductor(L1) is bulky and heavy, I want to replace it with the smaller size inductor. If there is an equivalent product available, please let me know.

Please find the datasheet of the inductor(L1) - (https://e2e.ti.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/PA2965_5F00_XXXrevP4.pdf)

  • Hi Natesan,

Thanks for following up on this.

For inductor selection check out the app note below. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you are looking for a smaller inductor with the same 24uH inductance and 10A peak current values. Checking online I find the following two inductors.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
