My customer need a battery charger to charge 20A Single Cell Li-ion battery. Can we use BQ24610 with Ciclon MOSFET (such as CSD86350) to meet the requirement? Thanks!

    You are correct the charger is not just limited to support 10A if right external MOSFET are selected.

    First, what's the input voltage rating? bq24610 have 32V input OVP and recommended input is 28VDC.

    The charger current limitations exist in following items:

    1) ACP-ACN and SRP-SRN max voltage is 100mV, normally 10mOhm for 10A max, 5mOhm can support 20A max.

    2) the big MOSFET means big gate-drive capability requirement for bq24610 and the driver losses also increase. Check the data sheet spec table and application section for more information.

    3) if you desire to use external driver to expand the driver capability, please take the bq24610EVM-603 design for example.
