The cs pin of UCC2897A is sensing the current and it will cut the power off corresponding to 0.43V. But when the voltage goes below 0.43V, will it start again or will it latch? And what is the hiccup mode threshold? Over-all I want to know how this chip is controlling the current limit?

Hi Navin,

UCC2897A is a programable fixed frequency controller. the 0.43V threshold you mentioned is the pulse by pulse current threshold minimum voltage.

Once the voltage on CS pin exceed this threshold, the controller will shut down the driver in this pulse , but will generate driver pulse in the next cycle.

The hiccup mode threshold is 0.71 to 0.81 volts. In most cases this will never be encountered as the pulse by pulse current threshold turns the switch off before it can be reached.
