Part Number: UCC28220
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5032
Dear all,
I'm involved in a project based on a hard switched buck converter.
The ratings are the following: Pout: 80KW, Vin: 800V, Vout: 600V - 100V; switch technology: IGBT; 2 interleaved non synchronous buck.
Due to the high current, we prefer to use the IGBT as active switches and we would like to implement an interleaved buck as stated above.
I was suggested to use the LM5032 or the UCC28220, but them are rated for a switching frequency range above 100khz that is not suitable for IGBT.
Am I right that the minimum switching frequency for the LM5032 is 90Khz as stated in the Fig7 page 8 of the datasheet and the minimum switching frequency for the UCC28220 is 45Khz as stated in the fig 13 pag 10 of the datasheet?
I know that the IC switching frequency is twice the converter's switching frequency so the real values will be 45khz for the Lm5032 and 22.5Khz for the UCC28220.
In case I'm right and the switching frequency are too high for my application, does TI have any IC suitable for my structure?
Best regard
Luca
