Hi team,

My client designs power supply based on TPS57160-Q1 with Vout=7V.

During cold crank, the Vin can drop to 6V for 50ms. We need to configure the TPS57160-Q1 in such way that the device just needs to transmit 6V directly to the output during the cold crank. Right now, the client is seeing some oscillations/pulsations on the output.

Can you please advise how we can make TPS57160-Q1 to enter into low dropout operation and achieve 100% duty cycle?

This will be fine if you can provide some example schematic with exact values of passive components around TPS57160-Q1.

There are scopes what the customer have now:

Vin = 7.7V

Vin = 7.1V

Vin = 6V

TPS57160-Q1 internal is N-fet, so when duty cycle is too large, it don't have enough time for diode conduct to charge the boot cap. one alternative way is whether you can add a isolated 5V between SW and boot for providing the energy to boot capacitor.

if you have chance to replace other part, recommend for LMR36015 which is synchronous 60V 1.5A buck , it has dropout funciton can support 98%-99% dutycycle when Vin close to Vo
