LP38691-ADJ: load transient response for Vout = 5 V

Part Number: LP38691-ADJ
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV767, LMG1020, TPS7A90

I would like to use LP3869x- ADJ for Vout =5V.

The load transient waveform that is being provided in datasheet is for Vout = 1.25 V, I would be thankful if you could provide the load transient waveform for Vout = 5 V.

Thanks

Hitesh Kumar

  • Hi Hitesh,

the above plots for line transient are actually for 3.3VOUT. I don't have the line transient data for 5VOUT but as long as the drop-out is about the same, the line transient response should be similar.

Note: we have released the TLV767 which is a much newer device with many improvements. (Sorry Line transient for this also shows 3.3VOUT).

I hope this answers your question.

  • Dear JCHK,

Thanks for responding. In the datasheet of TLV767 during the load transient response, the  change in output voltage is around -400mV.

Could you please suggest any other LDO regulator, compatible  for powering LMG1020, which has better load transient performance.

    Thank you

    Hitesh Kumar

  • Hi Hitesh,

We have two charts in the datasheet for the TLV767 Load transient:

Increasing COUT can certainly help but if you need truly fast load transient response, a device like the TPS7A90 might be a better choice:

Note: the TPS7A90 recommended maximum input voltage is 6.5V (absolute max is 7V).

    Does this work for you?
