LM5022: LM5022 is not providing 35V@ 3A Current

Part Number: LM5022

Dear Sir, I have used Lm5022 IC for Boost Converter the webench tool simulation providing the 3A current but we have used the same part on physical the voltage is dropping @3Amps current

Please provide the solution.

  • Hi Sandeep,

Thank  you for using the LM5022.    Please verify this by monitor the COMP pin.  It the COMP pin stays high, then you hit the peak current limit, and you can reduce the current sense resistor to allow more current.

Please note that we will be able to offer follow-on support after the holidays.  Wish  you a happy Thanksgiving!

  • HI,

Thanks for the reply, During load the Comp pin is high and also reduce the current sense resistor but not getting the expected results.

can you please help us to resolve the same.

    Regards,

    Sandeep Kumar

  • Usually what you saw is related to current limit.  When the circuit hits current limit, the duty cycle will be reduced and the output voltage will drop.  Then, reducing the sense resistor will help.  Please share your schematic, with accurate part value/part number labeled, so we can take a review.

    Thanks,

    Youhao

  • Hi Youhao,

Thanks for your reply, I have done the all changes what you have suggest, when we connect the load during running circuit output voltage is droped from 35 to 14 VDC, I have also reduce the R-Sense resistor not not saw any improvement.

I have attached the circuit for your review, Kindly review and provide your comments.

    Thanks ,

    Sandeep Kumar

  • Please put 0 Ohm at Rs2, and see if the issue is resolved.  2mOhm sense resistor is too low, you can increase it .

  • May I assume the issue is resolved and close the thread here?  You are welcome to re-open the thread by adding a new post.

    Thanks,
