TPS65235: Questions for TPS65235 Burn Failure

Hi Experts,

Our customer is using our TPS65235 in their design, they found if they are not mounted D1 in below by mistake, the DC/DC will be easily burnt and damaged. Can you help to check what's failure scheme for this phenomenon? Is it expected behavior for our device? Thanks.

    Hi, Sir

    When D1 is not mounted, the BOOST converter loop is open, there is no any path for LX pin, so after power on, when IC switching, all of charges in inductor will charge LX node, then LX voltage will be boosted up to high voltage, so LX pin will be overstressed and damaged.
