LM5116: Not using VIN and using only VCCX

Part Number: LM5116

Hi,

I am FAE, a distributor of TI products.
I have a question from a customer.
The specifications are as follows.
VIN = 80V
VOUT = 17V
IOUT = 5.5A
The questions are as follows.
This device has a VIN pin for powering, but Could I operate this device by supplying power only from the VCCX pin without using this pin?
When applying voltage to VCCX pin, the customer thinks that supply to VIN pin is unnecessary.
If possible, is there a sequence between 80V(voltage supplied to power system elements) and VCCX?
Best regards,
  • Hi Kaji,

    The VIN is the chip supply voltage, input voltage monitor, and input to the VCC regulator. Need in RAMP GENERATOR function.The max is 100V

    The VCCX works as an optional input for an externally supplied VCC. VCCX max is 15V.
