BQ35100: How to set EOS Trent Detection value

Part Number: BQ35100

Hello,

I'm using BQ35100 in EOS mode. Can you please guide me how to achieve the most suitable value for EOS Trent Detection. The default as stated in 5.3.2 TRM.

Thank you.

Thameera

  • Thameera,

i suggest starting with the default values. The below image shows a typical expected result for the bq35100 EOS detection (ignore SOH for this test incorrect chemID). The bottom plot with Red, Blue, Green show applied impedance, measuredZ, and scaled R by the gauge. The middle plot shows the S trend and L trend filters. As you can see at the end when the impedance starts to increase rapidly the trend filters start to deviate. When this deviation is enough we determine we are in the steep portion of the curve. By default the gauge looks at 20%. If you lower it to far the gauge might detect the middle where there is a slight hump. This is where you want to make sure the [EOS Trend Detection Pulse Count Threshold] is set large enough to avoid this region. When this pulse count threshold is not met the gauge will not look at the trend deviations.

    Thanks,
