Dear Experts,

I am working with the GSM module, I want to design a solar charger(lithium-ion battery or other) for that device. currently, they are using BQ24073 for charge the battery through the power supply, I am not familiar with solar design if you have any idea's kindly let me know.

Module consume around 1.6A at transmission time (4.4v)

I am choosing this 5V 1.2A solar panel Can I use this solar panel with BQ24073 circuit

Hi Natesh,

The BQ24073 recommended voltage input is minimum 4.35 V and has a maximum input current of 1.5A and based on the solar panel specs, it should be fine.

Hi Anthony,

wow, I am very happy about your concern, then we are choosing 40W solar panel for 5v solar panel current is not enough to charge the battery,

Battery spec is 12V-7.5AH Lead Acid Battery and

this is my solar panel specifications

Can you help to choose stand-alone Mppt charging IC for my requirements

Recommendation is the bq24650 so hopefully that fits your needs.
