Hello!

I'm planning to migrate from bq40z50 to bq40z80. Can You tell me, are there any pitfalls or problems that I can face with on configuration stage?

For example may be some difference in registers or setting device up?

    Hello Arsenii,

    I recommend you look at the TRM register map. It is important to make sure the registers you read are compatible. Other than that, please order a few EVMs and the upgrade process is just to keep the same chemID, run a learning cycle, but the other configuration registers are slightly different.

    Cell count for example will be different. I would also recommend you verify the protection schemes on both ICs to make sure the thresholds are the same. It is slightly different between the z50 and the z80.
