UCC23513: Active pulldown

Part Number: UCC23513

Hi,

I have a question related to ”Active Pulldown" of UCC23513.

Is this function act as miller clamp to prevent self-turn-on phenomenon?

Or, should we correspond it by external circuit?

If it can prevent by Active Pulldown, is external protection unnecessary(e.g. negative voltage bias)?

Or, Is it necessary in some cases?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi, Tadahiko-san,

I assume you are referring to section 8.3.4.2 Active Pulldown of the data sheet?

In that case, this is not Miller clamp functionality, rather is it used to prevent mis-operation of the power devices when the UCC23513's power supply is missing. This active pulldown insures the power device is switched off if no VCC is applied to the UCC23513.

Let us know if you have further questions.
