UCC28C42: Can I use this part for 50VDC-300VDC to 14VDC/6A non-isolated converter design

Hi,

I am looking for a converter design with the input of 50VDC-300VDC and output is 14VDC/6A. No isolation requirement.

Can I use UCC28C42 along with synchronous driver IC TPS2838?. UCC28C42 and TPS2838 are powered separately using a buck converter UCC28880DR (50-300VDC input to 14V/100mA).

Please see the below diagram for reference.

Else, can you please suggest a solution for my requirement. I don't use fly back topology as there is a customized transformer involved.

Your requirement can be realized by non-isolated High voltage Buck, your configuration is just a high voltage non-isolated Buck, so UCC28C42 can support such topolgy.

Can you please help me to define following things,

1. My plan is to use synchronous buck mode in CCM mode.

Can you please suggest the MOSFETs? Driver IC #UCC27714 is selected.

2. For cost reduction, Can I go ahead with non-synchronous mode with 0.6Vf freewheeling diode. Do you have any part suggestion?

Please note that, maximum input voltage is 300VDC and output is 14V/6A
