I am using UCC28180D single channel gate driver to drive 700W LED module (Output Voltage 375 to 390). We are implementing non inverting driver configuration as in application note (Fig 25 in datasheet) to drive mosfet SJMN20N60CT.
The problem i am facing is that the mosfet is getting failed if i connect the load for around more than 1 hour and even the load is flikerring between 250V to 260V AC.
Please help me.
Hello Naveen,
Could you please attach the Vds waveform across the FET and the output voltage waveforms for better understanding.
Regards,
Sonal
Hello Sonal,
Previously with single mosfet everything is fine. But with 2 mosfets connecting in parallel , the load is flickering.
Now i have changed the mosfet to 17N80, with 2 mosfets now it is working fine.
Can you please let me know what may be the problem with the mosfet SJMN20N60CT in parallel connection ?
Regards,
Naveen G
Hello Naveen,
I was unable to find the SJMN20N60CT datasheet online, can you please provide me with a pfd for the mosfet spec.

Sonal
Hello Naveen,
The SJMN20A60FD MOSFET has a much lower Power dissipation rating 35W than the 17N80C3. I am not sure what the exact part number is but even then the SPP can withstand 208W and SPA can withstand 42W. This ex[palins the fets failing at higher line and load conditions.

Sonal
