Hi,
We are having trouble with the open circuit detection feature. Can you describe the register settings and what status should we expect for closed and open circuit? We are using channels 0 to 5.
Thanks,
Damien

Hi,
You can refer to page12 of DS.
Hi Charles,
Can you please provide me with the exact details? We have followed the DS but are still encountering issues with the operation of the open circuit detection. Can you outline the exact register values to enable the open circuit detection to function correctly?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi Charles,
Can you tell me what register I should read and what I should expect to see if channels 0 to 5 are open / closed circuit ?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi Charles,
Can you be more specific with your answers?
What values should I expect to see in the EFLAG register?
Is the a minimum current setting for which the open circuit detection will function?
I would prefer if my query were addressed to your manager.
Thanks,
Damien
Hi,
Sorry, I have missed your second question.
As I have answered in the first post, the error code of EFLAG register has been clarified clearly in the Table1 of datasheet, as well as the condition.
Please respect every answer.
If you have any difficulty in reading this, I suggest that you can contact with the corresponding FAEs for more direct help. They can explain to you in a more direct way.
Thanks.
Hi Charles,
Can you give me the contact info for the FAE?
Do I need to set a value for Iout,th ?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi Charles,
Do I need to set the Iout, target with a register or just with the Rext ?
Is the system making an analog comparison to half of the Iout, target?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi Charles,
If the system is making an analog comparison should the open circuit detection funciton for ANY value of Iout, target? We leave CG at the power on defaults
Thanks,
Damien
Hi Charles,
Do you have a response to my question?
If the system is making an analog comparison should the open circuit detection funciton for ANY value of Iout, target?
Thanks,
Damien

Yes.
Hi Charles,
Can you elaborate on your answer?
Is there a minimum value for LED current below which the open circuit detection will not function?
Can you give me an example of a circuit, register settings and expect values?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi,
Can you give me an example of a circuit, register settings and expect values?
What's your progress actually? Have you already set up a test bench? Don't you have any feedback for me regarding your test results?
Have you success yet under typical current per channel?
Please provide your result(waveforms) so that I can figure out what your actual problem is .
Hi Charles,
We are looking into the issue again. Would the open circuit detection work if Rext was 200 ohm ?
Thanks,
Damien
Hi,
It will work but the Iout,th should be calculated according to the value of Rext.
