Hi team,
Are there any TI eFuses with a current foldback response or something similar?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out!
Do you mean current limit foldback with system temperature or folding back the current during fault mode (overload /short circuit) ? What is the specific advantage over constant regulated current for this application ?
Please let me know so that we can propose a simple workaround to suit the need.
Best Regards, Rakesh
Hi Rakesh,
The latter, foldback during fault mode. I will ask my customer what the need for this feature is.
Thanks,
Michael
Rakesh,
It's going to be connected to a motor so we want the motor to just slow down in a fault condition rather than stopping and starting.
Thanks,
Michael
Hi Michael,
Most of our devices maintained regulated current in fault mode till they get thermal shutdown due to the power stress.
TPS259241 has thermal fold-back (2-12%) of current in current limit mode. Please refer Figure 36 in the datasheet and check if it suits.
