Hi Expert,

Our customer has one question about Alert pin.

We know Alert pin should be connect to host MCU GPIO port if AFE server as an active high interrupt.

However, Sometimes the GPIO has an high signal by unknown condition to cause OVRD_ALERT bit set then C/D FETs off after .

Customer would like to add diode to GND or level shift circuit, do you think it is available for this case? or do you have any recommendation for improvement?

  • Hi Shane,

A diode seems like a good solution.  You would probably want a low on voltage and low capacitance diode.  The only other immediate thoughts would be if the MCU has a input only pin available or GPIO that is only open drain that could be used for the ALERT input.
